The point of departure of Stephanie Kiwitt’s photographic works is rooted in the observation of urban spaces: a wasteland in the metropolitan area of Ghent, supermarkets, fitness studios, a chocolate manufacturer in Brussels. She is predominately interested in the representation of change and the fragility of public/urban structures and commercialising relationships of exchange. She works with series and ensembles of pictures, each assuming a specific form in a book or an exhibition space.
