Guido Vrolix

The Bathhouse

'Sex is what we are, love is what we want, life is what we get.' This manifesto forms the basis of Vrolix' figurative work. Vrolix' clear line, black silhouettes and bright areas of colour form a coherent and recognizable language of images.
Each of his works (paintings, drawings, sculptures, strips or theatre decors) depicts the everyday things of life: a pregnant woman, cornfields, a man in the street. They are images and situations that almost everybody instinctively understands and can associate with. Vrolix repeatedly tells the beginning of a story that waits for completion, for a continuation that is in every one of us.
Guido Vrolix has been working as an artist for 20 years.
