Willy De Sauter
In his more recent projects Willy De Sauter questions the status of painting and more specifically paintings as objects. He looks into the possibilities of bringing paintings into space. He will use tables as canvases for his paintings for instance and he sees a wall as a canvas on which he can paint and thus evoke brilliance, depth beauty.

De Sauters projects move increasingly towards a total discourse in which he not only removes objects that have been considered as art for centuries from their walls and puts them into an architectural context, he also intervenes directly in buildings and plays with them and changes the forms of walls for instance. Where does Art actually begin? De Sauter, a renowned and eminent aesthetician, works increasingly intensely with things around him so that his work goes deeper into the concept of space.
