Thierry Renard
Art, in its many expressions, has always been of a spiritual nature, reflecting sparkles of greater and lesser gods, named or unnamed. Equally, it has always been close to life and the living. Beauty and harmony, meaning and purpose should be its goals whatever artists decide art to be.
The art of Thierry Renard requires attention and memory. As such, it contrasts with the contemporary viewing of images - inattentive, hasty and forgetful. His collage technique, moreover, allows for uncommon readings of past, present and future images, in search of themselves and each other.
Thierry Renard was an autodidact artist. He studied and practiced Law in Europe and the United States. Art has been his sole commitment for many years.
