CENTRALE for contemporary art

logo

CENTRALE for contemporary art wants to bring current visual arts to the largest possible audience. It wants to encourage people to think about today's society, by being a place that is open to the world, Europe, the city of Brussels and its districts, and by accomodating the specific personality of Brussels, with its diversity of inhabitants and richness of cultures.

CENTRALE's program rests on more than one foundation and mainly wants to question contemporary art and its link to today's society. Pivotal in all this, are thematical exhibitions, the coupling of Brussels' artists with international ones, collaborations with the city's art schools, participatory projects by Belgian artists in residence and collaborations with other locations for contemporary art in all its incarnations (performance, music, film, literature, and so on).
