DOEK vzw

DOEK was founded in 2012 by social designer, artist and costume designer Lies Van Assche and arose from an ambition to develop a sustainable textile workshop around social themes such as solidarity, urbanity, identity, sustainability, which have influenced her work for years. The founding of DOEK was furthermore stimulated by the birth of her child and the urgent desire to see Theresa grow up in an environment where super-diversity is seen as a wealth rather than a problem. She wants to implement this conviction as a common good by developing concepts and projects with a social slant and with an artistic finality in which textiles are the common thread.
