Duo XXI consists of Elke Tierens, flute, and Jan Charlet, percussion. Their projects explore innovative opportunities for their instruments, capitalizing on performance. Their sound spectrum is unique, due to the use of electronics in combination with classical and ethnic elements. Flemish composers are an important source of inspiration for them. Their repertoire is complemented with works by composers such as Scelsi, Xenakis, Globakor… Duo XXI also likes to work in collaborative projects with actors, artists and performers.
