Peter Vanhove


Peter Vanhove studied at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, the Lemmens Institute in Leuven and the Conservatory of Maastricht.
He obtained a First Prize for piano and chamber music, as well as a Master degree and teh "Performance Diploma" for piano. His teachers were Jean Brouwers, Daniel Blumenthal, Jo Alfidi and Frans Van Beveren. He was a graduate of the Axion Classics Contest, organized bij Dexia Bank, and was also awarded the "PJ.Van Paesschen" Prize.
In 1997 he became the first-classified finalist of the "Concorso Pianistico Europeo" in Ostuni (Italy), where Lazar Berman was chairman of the jury. During the same year he won the first prize of the "Concorso Internazionale per giovani interpreti" (Switserland). He also received a special "BRAHMS Prize" at the "Concorso Internazionale Città de Lodi" (Italy).
In 2002 his first CD "Flemish Romantic and Impressionist Piano Music" was enthusiastically acclaimed by the Belgian press and public.
