Géry Cambier
Gery Cambier (°1964) studued percussion with Georges-Elie Octors and double bass with Christian Vander Borght. He had masterclasses with Stephano Scodanibbio and Thomas Martin, and specialized in baroque double bass (violone) with Maggie Urquhart at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag, and also with Anthony Woodrow.
From then on, he concentrated on contemporary music on the one hand and on baroque music on the other hand. He played double bass, electric gitar and percussion with Ictus. As baroque double bass player he plays with the 'Orchestre Baroque de Namur', 'Les Agrémens' and the basso continuo ensemble 'Caryatide'. He performes regularly with La Petite Bande (Sigiswald Kuijken), Le Choeur Mondial (Frieder Bernius), Les Talens Lyriques (Christophe Rousset), Currende (Eric Van Nevel), Il Fondamento (Paul Dombrecht), Il Seminario Musicale (Gérard Lesne), Ex Tempore (Florian Heyerick), Anima Eterna (Jos van Immerseel). With many of this ensembles he realized a lot of recordings for television, radio and cd's.
