Michel Massot
Michel Massot studied tuba and trombone at the Conservatoire Royal and the Conservatoire National Supérieur in Liege.
He was involved very soon with the avant garde musical scene, a.o. with Garrett List, Henri Pousseur, Jean-Pierre Peuvion, etc...
He founded Trio Bravo with saxophonist Fabrizio Cassol and drummer Michel Debrulle. The trio recorded several albums and toured for 10 years in Europe, the USA and Canada. With the replacement of Fabrizio Cassol by French saxophonist Laurent Dehors, the trio was renamed Trio Grande.
Michel Massot participated in various groups such as: La Grande Formation a.o. with Garrett List, Variations on a love supreme with Kris Defoort and Fabrizio Cassol, etc ...
He did solo performances as well as duos with trombone player Geoffroy De Masure.
These days, Michel is more and more active on the European stages with the Rêve d’Éléphant Orchestra and Trio Grande who he co-founded with Michel Debrulle.
He also plays with M. Ducret, H. Texier, Rabi Abou Khalil, Tous Dehors, the big band of French saxophonist Laurent DEHORS, Ictus, David Chevallier, etc ...
Michel Massot teaches at the Liège Conservatory.
