After graduating in PR, Katrine Druyts studied singing at the Music Academy of Turnhout, with Stella Pipeleers.She also studied drama and percussion. At the Royal Flemish Music Conservatorium in Antwerp, Katrine continued her singing education with Lucienne van Deyck, and obtained first prizes of singing and chamber music, as well as the higher diploma of singing, with distinction. During her studies, Katrine won the prizes 'Vincke-Soeurs' and 'Ernest Van Dijck'. She was first laureate of the Song-Competition 'Renaat Verbruggen'. Katrine had masterclasses with Greta de Reyghere, Noelle Barker, Geoffrey Parsons, David Mason, Jeremy Jackman, Ulrich Rademacher a.o.
Since 1994 Katrine teaches singing at the University of Antwerp, Flemish Conservatorium (classical & jazzdepartment). From 1999-2003 she was coördinator of the Vocal Department. Since 2003, Katrine also teaches singing at the Secundary School of Arts - Music, in Turnhout.
Katrine sang in oratorio, chamberoperas, early music ensembles (Capilla Flamenca a.o.), music theatres, chamber music ensembles, song recitals. She sang on concertstages in Europe (AU, B, D, GB, F, DK, NL, PL, CZ), Japan an Russia. Katrine premiered music by Peter Cabus, Frank Agsteribbe, Jan Van Landeghem, Leo Ouderits, Flor Verschueren, Piet Slangen, Kris Daelemans, Koen Severens, Erwin Eysackers, Dominique Lawalrée.
Since 1995, Katrine collaborates with marimbaplayer Ludwig Albert, with whom she recorded several cd's, as member of the Trio Patrasche.
