Bart Plateau


Bart Platteau started to play flute at the age of eight. He studied at the Brussels Conservatory for flute, percussion and chambermusic. He worked as classical percussionist with the "Nationaal orkest van Belgie", "Munt Philharmonisch orkest", and Chambermusic ensembles.

He followed jazzworkshops with John Ruocco and Joe Lovano. He got his masters degree for flute in 1993  jazzdepartment, at the Rotterdams Conservatory, where he studied with Ferdinand Povel, Dick Gout and Dick de Graaff.

He studied in 1992 at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA with George Garzone, Matt Marvugllio and Dave Valentin.

Nowadays he is working as freelance musician on stage and in the studio, tours around the world with the Amina Figarova Group. Since 1998 teaching the flute-major at the jazzdepartment of the Conservatory of Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
