Lieselot De Wilde


Lieselot De Wilde is a Belgian singer, performer and creative artist. She produces the online video project Around the world in 72 songs in which she sings songs from all over the world, accompanying herself with a barrel organ. She also develops the project Figurines, a series of transdisciplinary performances that talks about the human condition from a female perspective. With her ensemble Bel Ayre, together with composer/guitarist Peter Verhelst, she searches for new interpretations and forms of the song repertoire and writes her own songs. She also works as a freelance singer and performer. She sings with Ensemble Correspondances, Servir Antico, Imago Mundi, Zefiro Torna, Apotheosis, Ratas del Viejo Mundo and she has performed in operas by Ben Frost and Philip Glass. She performs in creations by the Belgian companies Zonzo and LOD and tours with them throughout Europe and Canada. Lieselot graduated at the Lemmens Institute Leuven, then studied with Jard Van Nes and participated in the Lucerne Festival Academy under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle.
