Ann Cnop


Ann Cnop (1981) obtains her diploma in 2004 of Master in Music, option violin, with high distinction with Elisa Kawaguti at the Lemmensinstitute in Leuven (Belgium).

In june 2008, she finishes her studies of baroque violin at the Brussels Royal Conservatory with Sigiswald and Sara Kuijken and Luis Otavio Santos, also with high distinction. There she obtains the ‘Ingeborg Köberle’ price, anually given to the two most meritorious students. Ann also take smaster classes with Johannes Leertouwer and Ryo Terakado (baroque violin) et Rainer Hoffmann (chamber music).

At the moment, she works with different ensembles such as La Petite Bande, where she is also invited as soloist and Konzertmeister (Sigiswald Kuijken), Il Fondamento (Paul Dombrecht), Europa Galante (Fabio Biondi), Bach Concentus (Ewald Demeyere), Les Agrémens (Guy van Waas), Il Gardellino (Marcel Ponseele), Les Muffatti (Peter Vanheyghen),...

As for chamber music, she plays in the young ensemble ‘Hildebrandt Consort’, and in duo with Veerle Pollet (pianoforte) or with Wouter Dekoninck (organ and harpsichord) and she is the first violin of the ‘Sirocco String Quartet.
