Nicolas Callot (Antwerp, ’79) and Lucas Blondeel (Brussels, ’81) met on a concert tour of Bulgaria in the summer of 1993. They started performing as a duo shortly thereafter. Both musicians started their studies at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp where they were coached by the piano-duet specialist Heidi Hendrickx. Masterclasses with György Kurtág and Malcolm Bilson were a further source of inspiration. They perform on period instruments as well as on the modern piano.
