Michiel Delanghe


Michiel Delanghe studied conducting at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp. As a student, he was appointed conductor of the Conservatoire's Orchestra and Ensemble XXI. Later, as an assistant, he worked with a.o. K. Kessels at the Flanders Opera (P. Glass's Satyagraha) and E. Whitacre at the Brussels Philarmonic with the Flemish Radio Choir. In 2018, Delanghe conducted the Brussels Philarmonic for its recording of Carmen Amoris by Belgian composer J. Van der Roost. Since September 2017, Michiel Delanghe is a guest professor in the conducting division of the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, for which he conducted W. Henderickx's Tejas in 2020. 

As an assistant conductor he previously accompanied Sir Mark Elder with the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra (2021), Christian Arming with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège in Schubert's 9th Symphony and Antony Hermus at the Opera of Rennes in La Finta Giardiniera (Mozart).
