Between 2008 and 2016 TAKT has developed into a fixture in the landschape of Flemish theatre and danceproduction. Every year, Dommelhof welcomes dozens of artists in residence, who receive physical space to develop and create works but also artistic feedback, financial support and/or technical and logistical assistance. The results of these residences were shown 2 to 3 times on TAKT mini-festivals in Dommelhof. Hugo Bergs (artistic director) and Bart Alders (technical direction) serve as the driving forces behind TAKT, as well as the many Dommelhof-coworkers (administration, communication, finances, maintenance, engineering, planning, bar, workstudio, etc.)
One of Dommelhof's main assignments are creation and (co-)productions in the field of performance arts. Dommelhof has two main structures to allow artists to create new productions: on the one hand there is the Theater op de Markt productionc-cell. Every year national and international artists from outdoor- and circustheatre come to work on a new performance in Dommelhof and presenting the results of their efforts during try-outs on location or during the Theatre op de Markt Festival. On the other hand, there is C-TAKT, a young structure that unites the workspaces TAKT-Dommelhof and C-Mine. C-TAKT supports transdisciplinary artists and guides young talent.
