Dansand!

Dansand! is the outdoor festival for contemporary dance, organised since 2013 by Ostend's artcentre Vrijstaat O. The festival's central focal point changes every year, but typically presents a large number of projects at just as many unique locations: at the beach, on the sea wall and in the city centre. Choreographers and dancers leave the theatre and challenge themselves, each other and the audience to dance and move through and with the city. Inspiring installations in the park, exciting improvisations on the sea wall, and moving performances at the beach: for three days every summer, the festival emerges as a kind of experimental laboratory for budding projects by young dancing talents.
