Stef Van Bellingen

Stef Van Bellingen is a curator and the director of Contemporary Art Platform WARP in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium. WARP is a visual arts platform that originated in 2006 and operates in the region of Waasland. WARP is an acronym for 'Waasland Artistic Projects', and a reference to the verb 'to warp', i.e. a creative transformation of an environment starting from a single point. WARP focuses on talent development, which enables establishing long-term relationships with artists, and results in all kinds of collaborations and exhibitions with mainly new productions. Revealing, presenting, promoting and referencing contemporary art is a core part of the organisation. A broad international scope establishes a stimulating frame of reference and provides our local footprint with continuous and challenging impulses. Our relationship with international artists and partners have led to artistic projects in Antwerp, Bruges, Dublin, Eindhoven, Genk, Ghent, Kasterlee, London, The Hague, Vienna and Ljubljana. WARP is also developing a residency for artists. Stef is also a member of the Assessment Committee (multi-disciplinary art) for the Flemish Community, a member of the Purchasing Committee dor the Flemish Parliament, a member of the General Assembly at MUHKA, Antwerp, a board member of Kunstwerk (Choreographer Marc Vanrunxt), an advisory member of Art Couch Magazine and a jury member of Make Eindhoven & Fire Station Studios Dublin.  Stef maintains a caleidoscopic interest in contemporary art.
