Glenn Geerinck

Glenn Geerinck is curator at De Warande in Turnhout. He obtained his Master in Fine Arts and Photography at Sint Lucas School of Arts in Antwerp. His work is driven by a spontaneous and open attitude towards the still image. His photographs are often a record of small actions he whether or not staged. Sometimes Geerinck arranges objects which become actors evoking a new meaning to the space they are set in. At other times he acts himself within the frame of the camera as an impulsive reaction to a particular moment in time. By activating the inherent stillness of the medium with notions of performance and at the same time reducing a three-dimensional action to a two-dimensional image, a tention between the ‘now’ and the ‘forever’ is captured.
