Alan Quireyns


Alan Quireyns currently works at Brugge Plus, where he works as a project leader of a new festival for performative arts, named Reiefestival, in Bruges in 2023. The festival takes place in public space and connects heritage with contemporary art practice. At Brugge Plus he is also project manager of the Parade of the Golden Tree, which will take a new form in 2022, focusing on sustainability and the city. In addition, he regularly writes, curates small projects and exhibitions and is an assessor at the department of culture of the Flemish Government. 

Before Alan Quireyns was project manager at the Goethe Institut Brussels of an international artistic mobility support fund i-Portunus, supported by the European Commission and in collaboration with Institut français and Isolyatsia in Kiev. In HART magazine he published the series Catzo Branco, short stories based on contemporary art works. From 2011 to 2019 he was artistic director of AIR Antwerpen. In that function he developed an international network with partners and artists in Latin-America and the Middle-East and organized various international exchange – and exhibition projects, and connected them locally. From 2015-18 he co-curated with Nav Haq the program ‘LODGERS’ on the sixth floor of M HKA, a.o.
