As an independent curator and artist, Pierre Muylle works with a wide range of diverse artists in very different contexts. From his search for an adapted way of showing and exhibiting, he created with Zaher, Tweelink and in his collaboration with Bart Lodewijks, various performances in which he explores the limits of the exhibition. In doing so, he resolutely enters into direct dialogue with the public from an artistic position and,
together with (art) objects, often shares stories, experiences or other associations. From a long experience in the field of Art Brut and rich collaborations with artists with learning disabilities and the studios they often work in, he has built up an international expertise in this field. From the MADmusée in Liège, he has created monographic exhibitions and publications as group exhibitions or collaborations with guest curators
for collection presentations. He has expanded the collection internationally and also presented it around the world.
The mediation between the different contexts and positions are also at the heart of the many accompaniments for commissioned art. From the search for a suitable artist for such collaborations in architectural commissions to the execution, Pierre Muylle accompanies both the clients and stakeholders of the architectural project and the artist and possible future users in order to give the artistic position in these often complex structures its proper place. In these different environments with their own characteristic possibilities and limitations, he always knows how to find a way to do justice to the potential of the artistic position. He does so from a concern for that context and a deep belief in that artistic position.
