Flor Bex

Florent (Flor) Bex, Master of History of Art and Archaeology (RUG, 1963), was director of the International Cultural Centre in Antwerp (ICC), founder of Artefactum (international magazine on contemporary art), director of the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (M HKA), director of Bex Art Consult bvba and Art Consultant for Aon Belgium NV. He has organised more than 600 exhibitions of contemporary art in Belgium and abroad, edited catalogues for these exhibitions, published numerous articles in catalogues, books and magazines, was a professor and visiting professor at various universities in Belgium and abroad and Honorary President of the Association of Belgian Art Critics (AICA). Although our country is drifting further and further apart politically, the Belgian identity survives in the visual arts', is Flor Bex's conclusion. The book "Art in Belgium after 1975'' is a farewell, because in February 2002 Bex resigned as curator of the M HKA. In 2017, M-Museum Leuven and the Province of Flemish Brabant organised OPEN M for the fourth time with Flor Bex as guest curator.
