Maïté Vissault

With a Ph.D. in Art History and a Diploma (Master) in Political Science, my professional career is characterised by the intertwining of theoretical and practical activities, developed within several artistic, political and cultural areas – French, Belgian and German. After two positions as director, I now wish to devote myself to an assiduous activity of research and transmission, all the while continuing to develop exhibition projects. Indeed, I have been pursuing, for almost twenty years an in-depth critical exploration of the exhibition space as much through the realisation of exhibitions of an international scale within a variety of institutions (West. Landesmuseum in Münster, DE – Director: Klaus Bußmann, Museum of Modern Art in Saint-Etienne, FR – Director: Lorand Hegyi, Museum of Art and Design, MARTa, Herford, DE – Director: Jan Hoet, Artistic Director of IKOB and of ISELP, and recently curator of RESISTANCE for the Centrale for contemporary art, Brussels), as through being occupied professionally as a researcher and professor.
