Samuel Saelemakers


Samuel Saelemakers is a curator and teacher, working at Middelheim Museum (Antwerp) as curator of the Public Art Collection (‘Collectie Kunst in de Stad’). In 2021 he will be working with visual artists Goshka Macuga and Ken Lum (amongst others) who will be making new work for the public space of Antwerp. From 2012 to 2019 he was curator at fka Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art, Rotterdam. He also holds a teaching position at the Curatorial Studies program at KASK, Ghent. In his current position, Saelemakers is mainly working on artistic and societal matters related to public representation, with a particular focus on colonial monuments in the Public Art Collection of Antwerp.
