Els Vermang

Els Vermang is a Brussels-based artist and curator. She holds a master in Architecture from the University of Antwerp. She has been part of the collective LAb[au] for 20 years, with whom she has been creating large scale permanent sculptures and exhibited in ‘s world’s most prestigious institutions. Today she is continuing separately.
As an artist she researches the logical control of a conception process and is inspired by scientific and philosophical
considerations.
As a curator she researches the dialogue of traditional and new media arts on the one hand and material and immaterial spaces as places of expression on the other hand. She shares this research mainly through Société , an exhibition platform situated in Brussels’ former Société Bruxelloise d'électricité, an electricity factory built in the 1930s.
