Eline Verstegen


Eline Verstegen (1991, BE) is a curator and writer. She holds an MA in History, specializing in 19th- and 20th-century (art) history, from the University of Antwerp (2013) and an MA Curating the Contemporary from London Metropolitan University and Whitechapel Gallery (2017).

Her curatorial practice is informed by a keen interest in immersive installations and atmospheres, and by a significant attention to multidisciplinary cross-overs with the performing arts, film, literature, philosophy and cultural theory.

Besides her freelance practice as curator and author, she gained professional experience working with the curatorial teams at The Roberts Institute of Art, Whitechapel Gallery, Art Night 2017 and SE8 Gallery (all London), as an assistant intern coordinator at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (Venice) and production assistant at Artefact Festival (Leuven). She currently works on the exhibitions and public programme at Kunsthal Extra City (Antwerp).

She has written extensively for artists, exhibitions and publications. Her texts were published at, amongst others, Fred&Ferry Gallery, rekto:verso, Fantômas, HORST Arts & Music Festival, Extra FoMu, Filmmagie, Tick Tack, Tique, valerie_traan gallery, and PrintRoom Rotterdam.
