Bjørn Van Poucke

For almost twenty years, Bjørn Van Poucke has been helping to promote the recognition of street art(ists) - both by the public and by the art world. To this end, he organised the first Belgian street art festival in 2011 and has since been involved in the creation of more than 250 murals - in his own country alone. In 2016, he was approached by the city of Ostend to put together a street art event: The Crystal Ship grew in no time into the largest outdoor arts festival in the country, with Van Poucke still at the helm. After writing two international bestsellers for publisher Lannoo, Street Art Today (2016) and Street Art Today 2 (2019), the curator co-founded the creative hub All About Things. That pairs adventurous artists with ditto projects and cities, and also runs Ruby Gallery, a hybrid spot for both emerging and established artists who like to colour outside the lines. Finally, Van Poucke is often asked to speak at art festivals and fairs - from Paris to Miami - as well as at universities and colleges.
