The media used by the socially-focused artist Jan Vromman includes both video documentaries as well as text, theatre, fiction films and more recently multimedia projects. With Vromman it is not the primary amazement of all that is exotic, but his own experience, the things he is familiar with, that define his choices. In his projects he always starts with small, familiar objects where concepts need to unfold so that they never become a straitjacket.
