Marius Packbier

Born in Aachen, Germany in 1982, Marius Packbier is an audiovisual artist who now lives and works in Brussels. Exploring the organizational and narrative structures of digital media, he creates complex sensory phenomena using consumer level technology and found footage.  He investigates the relationship between technology and perception in order to obtain an original digital aesthetic that presents us with a view not just of the surfaces of the material world, but of its architectonic principles.
Marius Packbier’s video works challenge the conventional relationship between artist, artwork and spectator examining their role and function within the process of meaning construction.
With Aïlien Reyns, Martina Mellili and Zimu Zhang he founded the audiovisual art collective TRIPOT. Together they explore the intersections between art, academic research and social practice.
