Fabiola Burgos Labra


Fabiola Burgos Labra (b. 1984, Chile) studied art at Universidad Católica de Valparaíso between 2003-2008, and completed a MFA degree at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago in 2011. Currently she is a laureate candidate at HISK (Higher Institute for Fine Arts) 2022 – 2023, in Gent, Belgium. In Valparaiso, Santiago and elsewhere Burgos has organized and produced several exhibitions and interventions in the public space, focusing mostly in markets such as Mercado La Vega Central in Santiago (CL), Mercado La Merced in Ciudad de México (MX), and Feria El Alto in La Paz (BO), to name a few. In Chile she was part of the collectives TUP and la LLunior.
 

She has been a resident artist at Frans Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee (BE), OSMOS Station in Stamford, NY (US), R.A.T in Mexico City (MX), Materia Gris in La Paz (BO) and Balmaceda Arte Joven in Santiago (CL). Her work has been exhibited at Galería Gabriela Mistral, Matucana 100, Galería Macchina, Galería Balmaceda 1215, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Universidad de Chile, Centro Nacional de Arte Contemporáneo de Cerrillos, Local 2702 ARCIS, and Local Arte Contemporáneo, all in Santiago de Chile. Internationally she has exhibited at Open-Source Gallery in Brooklyn, New York (US), La Alianza Francesa in Managua (NI), Diablo Rosso in Ciudad de Panamá (PA), Bikini Wax in Ciudad de México (MX) and HISK, Gent (BE). For 2023 she is currently preparing a solo exhibition for Dimensions Variable, in Miami, Florida.
