Sina Hensel


Sina Hensel was born 1986 in Mainz (GER), lives and works in Brussels (BE), Ghent (BE) and Aachen (GER).
In 2012 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe (GER) and Hamburg (GER) and since 2018 she takes part in the postgraduate research programme of HISK (Higher Insititue for Fine Arts) in Ghent (BE). Since 2019 she holds a scientific research position at RWTH Aachen university (GER) at the Chair of Pictorial Conception in the Architecture Department.
Her work has been shown among others: MHKA- Museum for Contemporary Art Antwerp (BE), Kunsthaus L6 and Kulturwerk T66 Freiburg (GER), Kunstverein Paderborn (GER), Kunstverein Tiergarten Berlin (GER), SouthBlock Glasgow (UK), LaChaufferie Strasbourg (FR) and the Government headquarters Karlsruhe (GER).
Artistic research residencies brought her to: Tatra National Park (PL) with STEP Travel Grant of the European Cultural Foundation, Cairngorms National Park (UK) with Beta-Beta Residency, Brussels (BE) with Penthouse Art Residency by Harlan Levey Gallery, Luberon National Park (FR) with a Travel Grant of the Roi Baudouin Foundation and to Villa Romana (IT) with a Travel Grant of the Annual Award of Academy of Fine Arts, Karlsruhe.
