Benjamin Verhoeven


Benjamin Verhoeven (°1990, Belgium) is an installation and video-artist who lives and works in Brussels(BE). He studied at the Ghent Royal Academy of Fine Arts and is a laureate at the HISK.

 

His work evolves around the image as a medium and its (re)production, with audiovisual apparatuses as his main working tool. In his current work he deals with the action of scanning moving images and putting them back into an animated film.

 

He participated in various national and international exhibitions; among them at KANAL/Centre Pompidou(BE), Mu:ZEE(BE), Cinematek(BE), University Art Gallery Irvine, California(US) and the 6th Moscow Biennale, special program(RU).

 

His video work was also screened at filmfestivals like Experiments in Cinema, Albuquerque(US), Traverse Vidéo Toulouse(FR), Stuttgarter Filmwinter(DE), European Media Arts Festival, Osnabrück(DE), Videoformes, Clermont-Ferrand(FR) and Limited-Acces Festival, Teheran(IR)
