Shailey Shah (1997, Belgium) is a multi-disciplinary artist, constantly learning and experimenting with new mediums, techniques, and their infinite possibilities.
Her surroundings and experiences are a fundamental influence to her artistic practice and research. She explores social and political issues, feminism and specifically her own multi-cultural upbringing, being Indian but growing up in Belgium. She believes it's important to reflect on our specific and personal experiences and narratives as a way of coming to know the world around us.
Her recent work consists of inventing a new language that plays with reality remoulded into fiction. She is interested in materiality and to use mediums in a non-traditional way. She likes to change and transform materials into something completely unique in my her own language.
