PhotoTWENS

PhotoTWENS is an initiative that was conceived and organised 10 years ago by the Leuven photography platform Unexposed with the support of the City of Leuven. Its main objective is to introduce a new generation of photographers, in their twenties, to the wider photographic community and to give them a first visibility by means of an exhibition and an exhibition publication.

Every year, photographers aged between 20 and 30 are invited to submit a photo series on a free theme through the leading photography art schools (Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels) and a social media campaign. A professional jury will then select the laureates, who will exhibit in September at the Kapel De Romaanse Poort in Leuven. For this, we could already call upon expert jurors such as Sofie Crabbé, Maureen Magerman, Gena Kagermanov, Karel Fonteyne, Stefan Vanthuyne, Nicky Aerts, Nick Hannes, Baudoin Lotin, Jean-Marc Bodson, Marie-Françoise Plissart, Eva Wittocx, Lore Stessel, Catherine Lemblé, Roel Jacobs, Tim Dirven, Koen Leemans, Mark Schaevers, Johan van Cauwenberge, Kaat Celis, Johan Swinnen, Lore Boon, Rik van Puymbroeck and Joep Bremmers. The complete list of laureates and jury members can be found at https://www.unexposed.eu/about.

In the margin of PhotoTWENS, other activities are organised, often in cooperation with KADOC (KU Leuven).
