Platform 6a

At the beginning of September 2019, brothers Bart and Gerald Deweer announced a turn. With a view to reorienting, they turn a page of the family story Deweer. A turnaround that they approach surprisingly and from an unexpected angle. The collection of modern and contemporary art that the Deweer family has built up over 40 years is housed in Deweer Gallery Estate. This makes the cooperation with the Antwerp KETELEER GALLERY concrete.

The end of a chapter heralds the start of a new concept. Bart and Gerald Deweer soon took up the idea of giving the available gallery spaces a new purpose. An interactive process in which art and experience interact becomes the breeding ground for PLATFORM 6a. With this concept Bart and Gerald Deweer open the doors of their site for art events with the aim of creating a lively mix between private and corporate collections, artists, galleries, people from the design world and other art forms. This gives these people the opportunity to organize exclusive activities in situ, so that the location again earns the meaning for which it was intended. They welcome their customers and / or relations in a place that bears witness to a rich art past.

PLATFORM 6a is a concept fueled by diversity. After all, the entire site is divided into various experience spaces. The gallery spaces on the ground floor will be divided for a long period among art collectors Marc Coucke (Room 1) and Tanguy & Bieke Van Quickenborne (Room 2). Work from our own collection will be openly displayed and curated throughout this period. Philippe Van Cauteren takes care of the first presentation of the art collection for the spaces that Vanquickenborne occupies. With this nomadic gallery concept, the collected work is placed outside the private context. The public is introduced to extraordinary works of art in a special setting.
