Project spaces often are started by artists who make use of infrastructure for artistic projects.
LaVallée
In 2014, the Smart cooperative signed a 27-year lease for the occupation of a 6,000m² former industrial laundry in Molenbeek.
The aim is to install a community of artists and creative entrepreneurs in the building and to offer a varied cultural programme as well as spaces for rent.
The ambitious project is called LaVallée, after the street where the project is located, and is developing rapidly, inspired by the dynamics of third places.
The project is mainly organised around three poles: the provision of workspaces, the rental of rooms and the production of events.
