Galerie Mie Lefever

Gallery Mie Lefever was founded by the end of 2005 as a sequel to an 'artists in residence' program
for young Romanian artists.
The opening exhibition took place November 2005 and featured work of artists that had participated
in the program (amongst others Anca Benera).
September 2006, Marius Bercea became the first artist to have a private show.
Serban Savu, Gorzo, Mircea Suciu would be amongst the first to follow.
Starting 2008, and in collaboration with ' Universitatea de Arta si Design Cluj-Napoca ' the gallery shows,
on a yearly basis, a selection of some four graduates of this institute.
Out of this follow then individual exhibitions, as with Maxim Liulca, Sergiu Toma, Ioana Iacob... Fact is that the young Romanian artists connect ever faster with the international art scene.
The gallery concentrates, since her start, on introducing and supporting young and emerging artists
(younger then 35),with special interest for contemporary art in Romania.
The gallery also gives a platform to young Belgian artists.
Out of personal interest, accent is on painting, without excluding other media.
 The gallery is non-commercial.
