In the course of 2006-07, Verheyen was artist in residence at CC de Warande in his native town of Turnhout. On this occasion, Verheyen assembled an international quartet rarely seen for a musician of his age. They did a tour in April 2007 and recorded the cd 'Painting space' that was released in April 2008 on W.E.R.F. and followed by a European Tour.
