Elke Wynants


Elke Wynants had her first cellolessons at the academy of music in Vilvoorde with Claudine Steenackers. At the academy of music in Boom, she received in 1997 her diplom with the highest distinction. In the same year she became laureate of the competition Pro Civitate.
Higher studies she did at the Conservatory of Brussels and Antwerp, with Harro Ruysenaars and France Springuel. She did masterclasses with Marie Hallynck, Walter Grimmer, Louis Claret and François Guy.
Last year she finished her studies at " Le Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles" with Didier Poskin with high distinction. Now she is doing a specialisation with Jeroen Reuling in Brussels.
Since a few years she is actif in different professional orchestras like the National Orchestra of Belgium, Flamish Opera, Flamish Radio Orchestra and de Munt.
In 2001 she was principal cellist in "de Jonge Filharmonie"(national youth orchestra of Belgium) and from 2002 till 2004 she played in the European Youth Orchestra (EUYO) within she did tournees in Europe and Brazil. This with conductors as Vladimir Ashkenazy and B. Haitink.
She did also masterclasses of chamber music with the Alban Berg Quartet, Danel Quartet and Oxalys.
