Stefanie Troffaes (1980, Belgium) studied the baroque flute with Barthold Kuijken, Marc Hantaï and Frank Theuns at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. In 2003 she graduated magna cum laude and recieved the highly esteemed Köberle prize as promising talent of the early music department. She obtained her master degree in recorder with Bart Coen the year after. In 2002, she was finalist on the baroque flute in the international soloist competition Musica Antiqua Bruges.

In her search for authenticity, Stefanie performs a repertoire from the renaissance until the early romantic period. She tours with renowned early music ensembles such as B'Rock (Belgium), Les Talens Lyriques (France), Freiburger Barock Orchester (Germany), La Petite Bande (Belgium), Al Ayre Espanol (Spain) and the Academie Montis Regalis (Italy).
She is also often asked to perform in chamber music ensembles such as Les Folies Françoises directed by Patrick Cohën-Akenine (France) and La Caccia (Belgium).

She took part in several recordings for the labels Alpha, Virgin, and Naïve. Besides her concert life, she teaches the traverso and the recorder in her homeland Belgium.
