Katleen De Vylder


Katleen De Vylder, harpist, studied with Susanna Mildonian and at the Royal Conservatoire of Music in Antwerp. She travelled around Flanders as a soloist or accompanied by a violin player, cellist, flautist, singer, word painter, photographer, painter, sculptor, writer, ...
As a 'lone wolf' in the harp world, she loves to create always something new with things that are very important to her, such as emotion, music, poetry, history. Her compositions are a mix of impressionism and romanticism with classical infuences.
She already released 7 cd's: ‘Op Harpen en Snaren’, ‘Met Harp en Ziel’, ‘Die Goede Oude Kerst’ en ‘Over Levenskunst met Fingerspitzengefühl’,  ‘Harpgetijden’ (Harpseasons), Harpliedekens, Minnestreel der Dansende Zielen.  Besides her own compositions on the cd 'Harpseasons', she also made arrangements for harp of works of Peter Benoit, Elias Gistelinck, Emiel Hullebroeck and Edvard Grieg and many others.
