Michelino Bisceglia is a renowned Belgian composer of Italian origin. Born in 1970, Bisceglia has a diverse musical background and has been associated with a range of musical genres, from jazz to film soundtracks. He has been active in the industry for over three decades, and his work has been recognized and celebrated at several international events and festivals.

Bisceglia's career as a film composer took off later in his career, and he has since composed soundtracks for numerous feature films that have been screened at prestigious festivals like the Cannes Film Festival and Venice International Film Festival. He was the composer for the 10-episode series "Thieves of the Wood," which had a worldwide release on Netflix in 2020. In addition, Bisceglia has composed the music for several exhibitions, including the highly acclaimed "Claude Monet Immersive Experience". He has won several awards for his work in film music, including the World Soundtrack Award Public Choice in 2014 for his work on the film "Marina," and he has received again a nomination for a World Soundtrack Award in 2022 for his soundtrack on the animation drama "Charlotte," which starred Keira Knightly. Recently received another nomination, this time for “Breakthrough composer of the Year” by the International Film Music Critics Association - IFMCA”

Aside from film music, Bisceglia is a talented conductor and has worked with some of the world's leading orchestras, including the Brussels Philharmonic, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto Casa da Música, Hungarian Studio Orchestra, Galaxy Studio Orchestra and The Japan Symfonia. He has released several albums of his own compositions, including "Orchestral Works 1," which features the highly acclaimed Brussels Chamber Orchestra, the oboe soloist Piet Van Bockstal, and the AMK Choir. Bisceglia is currently working on a new concerto for trumpet and orchestra, and he is set to score the soundtrack for the upcoming film "Sleep" by Jan-Willem van Ewijk.

In addition to his work as a composer and conductor, Bisceglia is a sought-after music director for live events, including ceremonies, corporate events, concert tours, and musicals. He has been commissioned by several high-profile companies and organizations, including Nespresso, Volvo, and the Belgian European Presidency, to arrange music and compose original pieces for their events. In 2018, Bisceglia was commissioned by the city of Genk to re-arrange the music from all the films by Tim Burton for the opening of the exhibition, and the concert was attended in person by Burton himself.

Bisceglia's musical talent extends beyond film and orchestral music, and he is also known as a highly skilled jazz pianist. He has recorded dozens of records for renowned labels like RCA Victor, Enja Records, Prova Records, and Blue Note. Bisceglia has performed at several international jazz festivals with his own jazz trio and has established himself as a versatile and accomplished musician.
