a nocte temporis

a nocte temporis

a nocte temporis is a baroque orchestra from Leuven. Their goal is to present a historically informed performance and to emotionally touch a large audience.

After several years of activity as a soloist with conductors such as William Christie, Philippe Herreweghe, Hervé Niquet and Christophe Rousset, Reinoud Van Mechelen founded his own ensemble in 2016. Originally a chamber music ensemble, a nocte temporis has since grown into a full-fledged baroque orchestra.

Over the years, a nocte temporis has performed at several locations in Belgium and abroad, including concerts in France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. In 2019, the ensemble went on a short concert tour to China. They have created several albums, many of which have received multiple awards. The French baroque repertoire plays a central role in their recordings, but names like J.S. Bach and W.A. Mozart are also part of their repertoire, as well as eighteenth-century Irish folk music.
