Beniamino Paganini (°1994) is a passionate traverso player, harpsichordist, ensemble leader and music teacher. He was named Young Musician of the Year 2020 by the Belgian Music Press and in 2021 Belgian classical radio Klara put him in the spotlight as one of their ‘Twintigers’, promising young musicians in their twenties.

He received his master’s degrees in traverso (2016), harpsichord (2017), and maestro al cembalo (2019), as well as a Bachelor of Musicology (2018), all with great distinction. Beniamino is the founder and, together with Nele Vertommen, artistic director of Musica Gloria, with which he performs concerts for organisations such as Klara, AMUZ, Bozar, Musica Antica and Concertgebouw Brugge. With Musica Gloria, he has already realised numerous video recordings and four CDs including ‘The Bachs & The Flute’ and ‘Encounters in Rome: Corelli & Handel’.

He also collaborates with many other ensembles like Il Gardellino (Jan De Winne and Marcel Ponseele), Scherzi Musicali (Nicolas Achten), B’Rock and La Petite Bande (Sigiswald Kuijken).

Beniamino discovered his passion for early music at the age of 7. At 16, he started at both Royal Conservatories of Brussels and some years later also at the Conservatories of Leuven and The Hague. He studied traverso with Barthold Kuijken, Frank Theuns and Jan De Winne, renaissance flute with Kate Clark and Patrick Beuckels, and harpsichord with Frédérick Haas, Fabio Bonizzoni, Patrick Ayrton and Kris Verhelst.

He has received several first prizes and received the ‘Sonderpreis der Jury’ at the International Telemann Competition Magdeburg (2021).

Beniamino is harpsichord accompanist at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles. He also teaches harpsichord, traverso, accompaniment and chamber music at the music academies of Brugge and Gentbrugge.
