Urban Piano Quartet

"Born from the union of strong personalities, the Urban Piano Quartet is an inspiring ensemble that adds a dash of modernity and passion to the interpretation of the great classics while pursuing its proximity to the contemporary repertoire." - Festival Musical du Hainaut

Winner of Supernova 2019 and Nordic Strings 2020 Competitions, Urban Piano Quartet was founded in 2018 in Brussels. UPQ won its first competition only after a few months of existence. This led to an exciting 2019/2020 season with over thirty concerts and the recording of their first album generously supported by Beeldenstorm. The CD dedicated to the music of Johannes Brahms and PÄ“teris Vasks will be released in fall 2020.

The members of Urban Piano Quartet are greatly respected chamber musicians. They have given concerts in leading European, American and Asian concert halls and were invited to perform in prestigious festivals such as Klarafestival, Festival de Musiq3, Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel (BE), Pablo Casals (FR), Grafenegg (AU), Santander (ES) among others.

Recordings of UPQ have been broadcasted on Klara and Musiq3 radios. These national radio stations are partners and supporters of the ensemble.
