Hildebrandt Consort

Wouter Dekoninck, concert organist, harpsichordist, composer, artistic director, bundles his passions and talents in his magical transcriptions and in his ensemble Hildebrandt Consort. Dekoninck translates the rich keyboard repertoire into instrumental / vocal pieces based on the original composer's style, principless, orchestrations or vocal way of writing. Thanks to his stylistic transcriptions, performed on period instruments by the top musicians of Hildebrandt Consort, the audience will experience an authentic yet surprisingly new, exclusive repertoire of great masters, from Renaissance to Romantic music.

"Incredible imagination and premium craftsmanship." Their productions have been awarded several times with rave reviews / a gold label by the international press: Grosse Messe 1739 for Bach und Luther, a new / monumental Bach mass for singers and baroque orchestra by Dekoninck, after Bach's "organ mass" Dritter Teil der Clavierübung; [Bach] ²: The Art of Transcription, dazzling organ preludes and fugues for… baroque orchestra and Bach's brilliant organ concertos; Tea with Mendelssohn and Coffee with Schumann, intimate chamber music transcriptions (string quintet) and powerful organ arrangements from the sometimes forgotten piano repertoire of both composers.

Hildebrandt Consort performs at international stages / festivals (Iedereen Klassiek, Bach Academy Bruges, Thüringer Bachwochen [DU], Bach and Combrailles [FR], Tokyo [JP]…), cultural centers, live for TV and radio (Canvas / Klara / MDR-KULTUR). Hildebrandt Consort is ensemble in residence in the concert series 'Bach in Leuven'. Remarkable: together with De Nieuwe Snaar (a Belgian pop group) they performed Dekoninck's baroque adaptations of their songs in the Antwerp Sport Palace.
