Founded in 2019 and based in Ghent, Sonoro Quartet has already established itself as one of the leading young string quartets of its generation. Playing over 40 concerts a year in countries as Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, and Ireland, they are one of the most active string quartets of Belgium. With repertoire ranging from the classical masterpieces to contemporary composers, they played in venues such as Bijloke in Ghent, Bozar in Brussels, Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht, National Concert Hall in Dublin, the Liszt Academy and Bartók Memorial House in Budapest, Desingel in Antwerp and were invited to play on the leading festivals in Belgium such as Festival Midis-Minimes, The Young Generation Bozar, B-Classic, Storioni Festival and many more.

Sonoro Quartet made recordings for radio stations such as Klara (Belgium), RTE (Ireland), Bartók Radio Budapest and SWR (Germany), where they premiered the string quartet of Eric Domenech as part of the Beethoven Fest 2020 in Bonn.

The quartet is currently studying at the Dutch String Quartet Academy (NSKA) in Amsterdam where they have lessons from renowned artists such as Marc Danel and Gilles Millet (Quatuor Danel) and Eberhard Feltz. Besides this, they have taken lessons with Heime Müller (founder of Artemis Quartet) in Lübeck.

In October 2021, Sonoro Quartet received the 3rd prize and two special prizes at the Bartók World Competition for string quartet in Budapest. With their energetic interpretations and musical maturity, the quartet left a great impression both to the audience and the jury, which included renowned names such as Mikhail Kopelman (Borodin Quartet), András Keller (Keller Quartet), Barnabás Kelemen (Kelemen Quartet), Bjørg Lewis (Vertavo Quartet), Johannes Meissl, and others.
