Trio Malatya

Trio Malatya

The Trio Malatya is a chamber music ensemble from Ghent. It was founded in 2022 by clarinettist Yassine Posman, cellist Jacob Van Durme and pianist Taha Posman. Together, they want to explore the little known repertoire for clarinet, cello and piano by Beethoven and Brahms, but also by contemporary composers and anything in between.

Nineteen years went by before the three gentlemen realised they lived almost right next to each other and they had the same ambitions. They then proceeded, with a mix of driven enthousiasm, musical pleasure and demanding professionality, to tackle the clarinet trio Op. 114 by Brahms, which they succesfully performed in the Miry concert hall in Ghent. In February 2023, they were one of the finalists at the Big Little Music competition, organised by music centre De Bijloke, and they also won the audience award and the first place at the Supernova competition. From their shared passion for classical, romantic and contemporary chamber music, the Trio Malatya wants to continue exploring and rediscovering the repertoire for clarinet, cello and piano for years to come.
