Matthias Standaert

Matthias Standaert started drumming at the age of 16. In 1999 he attended the Jazz Conservatory of Ghent and five years later he graduated at the same Conservatory as Master in Music.

Now days, Matthias plays the drums in electro rock band Vive la Fête. Vive la Fête is the band of ex-Deus bass player Danny Mommens and sexy diva Els Pynoo.

He also plays with Lady Linn and her Magnificent Seven. This is a jazz group round singer Lady Linn (Skeemz) who was nominated for best singer national 2007 of the famous Belgian Magazine HUMO (Humo's Pop Poll de Luxe 2007). Matthias has a hip hop fanfare Da Fonkfare and a jazz combo The News Wing. He is also working on a new 2 drummer project with his brother Maarten Standaert (the bass player of Gabriel Rios), Rodrigo Fuentealba (guitarist Gabriel Rios and Novastar) & drummer Karel Debacker (Gabriel Rios, Flip Kowlier).

With these groups Matthias played all over the world on big and small festivals and clubs (Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Polen, Germany, Swiss, Denmark and Luxembourg).
